About La Leche League International
La Leche League is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization whose mission is to promote a better under-standing of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother and to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through education, information, encouragement and mother–to–mother support.
LLL Leaders are all experienced nursing mothers who are uniquely qualified to give encouragement and practical help of a non-medical nature to other mothers who desire to breastfeed their babies.
LLL publications include The Womanly Art Of Breastfeeding, Breastfeeding Pure And Simple, The Breastfeeding Answer Book, the bimonthly magazine- New Beginnings, and numerous information sheets and professional pamphlets. Prior to publication, all LLL material of a medical nature is read and approved by members of the LLL International Health Advisory Council.
